Box and Defeo were our main contactor when we built a new cottage which was designed to look as if it was old. Linking old and new techniques together caused several issues but whenever a problem arose, Quin was ready to think through the issues, discuss it and together we would come up with a solution so the build could move smoothly on and we now have a lovely 'old' cottage at the end of the garden as a home for my mother in law.

It is a year now since my extension has been completed and I am really happy with the extra space I have in my home.  The Box and Defeo team were great! I would definitely recommend them.  They went out of their way to ensure we were happy.  The whole experience was relatively stress free, with any slight hiccups being resolved by the team quickly and efficiently.  Nothing was too much for them.

We appointed Box and Defeo after scrutinising five quotes for our work. We wanted a competitive price, a quality build and no surprises. That is exactly what we got. Our neighbours told us that the extension looks as though it was built at the same time as the original property. The quality is far superior to the original build. I was pleased to say the on site team were considerate towards my neighbours too.

I only wish I had chosen them for my first extension.

From the start of our two storey extension and balcony we had every confidence in the workmanship of Box and Defeo.  We were re -assured by their response, proposed method of work and competitive price.

Once work started, progress was rapid with different trades  co-ordinated throughout .  They even managed to work around our garden, which contained many favourite plants, without damage and the site was left clean after each days work.  They showed innovation  - which resulted in a much better use of space and increase in size and amenity area.

At times there were problems with suppliers but again we were pleased when these were resolved on our behalf.

Throughout our building  work Box and Defeo and all their sub-contractors were a pleasure to have around, all working extremely hard to ensure that our work was completed to a very high standard and we are delighted with the result.

It was a pleasure working with Box and Defeo.  I had never been involved in anything like it before, but I enjoyed it and at the end of the project I have been left with a lovely home.  When I look back at my pictures now of the house in its various stages, I am amazed how it is transformed from a building site into a home.

Quin and Antony have a good team of workers and the standard of work is very high.  I appreciated all their help and guidance.

I was very happy with the service I received from the start to the end of the build. They listened and took action over concerns about blocking off the site due to our dog and keeping the site clean and tidy as possible. Even when they were knocking through to the main house every effort was made to keep the distribution to a minimum. In the end I have a lovely garden room that is proving to be a lovely addition to my home. No hesitation in recommending Box and Defoe

We had been warned that having an extension was a very traumatic experience, and as for builders they were a rule unto themselves, they never turn up when they say they are going to!! However, you appear to be the exception, and we were most impressed that you always advised us if for some reason you were unable to be on site. If we had queries or problems they were dealt with quickly and effectively. We were equally impressed with your operatives who all treated both ourselves and house with the utmost respect.

We chose Quin and his team after a competitive tender process. The work involved a second floor extension and an almost total remodelling of the inside of our house – the kitchen and 2 bathrooms were replaced, several walls were taken down, the stairs was moved and almost all the plumbing was replaced including a new boiler and main pressure water system. Quin involved his quantity surveyor from the start and was able to give us a detailed and reliable quote for the cost of the work from the beginning which he stuck to through the build. The work started on time and his team were on site every day until completion (no periods of inactivity). The work required a huge upheaval in the house but the team made a huge effort to ensure we were left as comfortable as possible at each stage (temporary plumbing, washing machine connections, heating etc). The house was always left safe and tidy. Most importantly Quin was on site almost daily and was able to deal with any concerns quickly and effectively – where the scope of the job was changed by us he was able to quickly agree a cost for this as we went along (no surprises at the end).

The quality of the work was excellent, the team were some of the most friendly and helpful we have ever dealt with and we are delighted with the end result. We would have no hesitation in recommending Quin and his team to anyone.
